A Wondrous Day!

" target=_top>

Mornin! We thought we were up with not enough time this morning, but then we remembered Dr. M. is out of town which means I can stay home a little longer, because I’m not expected into work right away. Is this cheating? Nah ... let’s think not! *Our most winning smile!*

Yesterday, we had the most wonderful day. We were able to sleep in, then spent a reasonable amount of on-line time, then we were with Macadam, Lee, and Abby, then came home to computer and an ice slushy, then went to bed. Couldn’t have been surpassed!

We took note, Floralilia about our extra help in writing "novels" in a week! You are right hehe we do have help!

Sometimes, we’ll read what we wrote only a couple of times, but more often, we read over the writing quite a few. In our multiple world ... it has become a kind of electronic bulletin board for our thoughts expressed. What happens after we write is that many parts come out to edit, and reedit what becomes a collective "story." The main part stays the same, but there are little things that I may have forgotten, or could be said a little more clearly. Eh, part of being a system, right? I think part of this also is that we have so many hours in the day where we are by ourselves. It might be a little more natural to have run on conversations. Our minds rarely stop processing. So many turns to take!

There isn’t a lot of hardship that goes into the original writing. We think and write in the same movement. Though sometimes, we might pause for a second or two to figure out what we want to be saying, or direction we might next go, or to ponder a thought. Hehe - not like there is a concrete outline. Back in ‘97 after the boys left our house to live with their father a while, we started by hand writing letters to them (until we found their father and stepmother were reading them too), then that evolved to keeping a paper diary of sorts, then we evolved to long descriptive emails to a friend/doctor, then the journals came by from AOL and we knew in an instant what our next step would be (lot easier on the friend/doctor too). Pretty cool stuff! The correspondence has taken on a whole new nature with the advent of 25,000characters. *Sigh*

We really do hope that someday our boys or grandchildren might take an interest in our life and the things we did and thought about. One day, I might not be here. We hear that it is common for people to write so as to leave a bit of history of themselves before that time. Speaking nothing of how good it allows us to feel while the letters magically appear on this funny screen in front of us. We will always marvel at how it is that I can see my thoughts transcribed with hardly a notion of what the fingers were doing to get them there. Maybe we were bred this way. I understand that after my father’s father died, his mother had a "career" as a typist for a very big insurance company in Minneapolis. So, the writing gives me a sense of carrying on in my grandmother’s spirit. Pretty neat!

Aynway ... the time with Macadam and his family was very wonderful. We agreed to meet at noon at a favored Mexican restaurant. We tried to look at some pictures of their vacation ... shoot, forgot which country again. Heheh as if by Que, Macadam just showed up on my buddy list. He says he was in the Bahamas. He had to go though, think he’s at work now. *Giggle* Well, it wasn’t a real good time to talk and look at pictures, because Abby needed a lot of attention. She’s just turned 3. *Grin*

The meal was pretty good, the company was excellent. Abby is still at that stage where she wants to be moving around a lot. She favors her mother with her fluidity. Hehe Daddy is apt to say, "Abby, you need to sit down now!" I sure hope they periodically sweep under the dining room tables! Some of the behaviors made us uncomfortable. I didn't mind her singing in the aisle, but I was afraid a waiter would tip over her, or that other restaurant patrons might not care to be serenaded.  We did draw a few lines. Such as ... it may be ok to play with Mama’s extra dinner, but ... Grandma intends to take her extra’s home in one piece! It sort of made me feel like Anne Sullivan of Hellen Keller’s early fame.

It went like this. Little hand shoots over to Grandma’s plate to mess with food (Mama’s plates been devestated). Grandma blocks hand and fork. She says, "Grandma wants her food to be left alone." Hand with fork swoops over again ... Grandma takes little angel’s hand, and says, "I think this hand wants to get you into trouble. I will help you hold onto your hand." Little hand breaks free (she can pull it toward herself, but not push it toward Grandma’s food). Handleaps out andis caught again by Grandma. Firmly stated, but with concern, "We’ll help your poor hand. She needs help." Grin on said child changes and begins to look a little concerned. Hand again breaks freeand once more pushes through to grab Grandma’s food. This time, no words are said, but the bigger hand again quickly collects the little hand. Child pulls free and decides she’d rather play with Mama’s food. Hehe, well that’s ok. Just as long as my boundary is clear. Hehe, she didn’t revisit Grandma’s plate. Silly waitress, should have picked it up by now. Temptations abound for little ones!

After a few attempts at talking, Macadam worked out another plan. He and Lee agreed that I should come over and Abby would take her nap. Wonderful! I thought. I’d really like to catch up on things. When we got over there, Abby asked us to see her bedroom. Thought, Cool! Lee came with too. We were given the umm, little chair to sit in. And, for about a half an hour, we watched our little dove, scamper from one thing to the next. We figured this is what this particular little one does best! I am to understand now that the first thing little girls do when playing is to dump all the toys in a big pile, then sift through them! Lordy, thank goodness Grandma doesn’t have to pick up! Hehe From this angle, she was a joy! Did you know it is important to tie one’s puppy up to the curtain cord before playing so he doesn’t muss with the toys?

I think then a questionable diaper problem happened, so we returned to the living room. Mother of little dove clearly reminds father of little dove ... it’s "Mother’s Day!" Man-o-man, sharp as a tack! LOL - Do I remember those life pleasures! Sort of like not being caught with the Hot Potato!  We figure that she's progressing through her training, because Lee says that sometimes, Abby changes her own diaper!  Thought, Wow!  That's Handy!!

Well, in fact, little Miss Amazing, never went to bed, but she did play quietly in her bedroom which gave me a chance to talk to the folks. We talked of all kinds of things including, their vacation, relaxing, family, and work. Very, very pleasant! Just love these people sooooo much!

After a while, Lee had to leave for something, Abby fell asleep although her body still looked in motion, and Macadam asked if I would like to stay over for a movie. Thought, "Sure, Wonderful!" As part of the conversation, he and Lee were telling me about how wonderful Harry Potter was. I knew of this social phenomena, but I’d never really visited it before. So, even though my son says he’s seen the movie 20 times already, we got our ice water, took up a comfortable couch pose and watched. Well, someone watched. Itwas a mixture really, but I think mostly the Casies watched. They were fascinated from the start!

I don’t think we would have seen the movie without someone though. They tend to get a little excited about the new things that flashed before them. We’d been trying to watch some of the more obvious parts changing, because we think Lee still thinks we’re a little strange. But, Macadam grew up with us ... Sometimes, I think he has shown us things that he knows will gather a little one’s attention. He responds quite naturally to them. We did ok until it was time to visit the dark forest, then Casey let us know it was time for a break. There’s a trick they use to call out older parts. We did some reassuring and then went back to finish the movie.

After the movie, people were now home, or up, so goodbye’s were given and hugs and smooches and we were on our way. Couldn’t believe it, but it was almost dark! How did that happen!?? Hmm, well aynway ... that’s about it of our day, but when we got back, we finished our leftovers, had the ice slushy and promptly fell asleep. Perhaps, we dreamed of wizards, owls, unicorns and such! Hehe, I can bet they all were moving!  Pretty full and exciting day. Life is sooo grand

So glad you had a nice Mother's Day!!  And yummy Mexican food - my favorite.  They always give way to big a plate of food.  Giggled as I read about 'keeping her hand from getting in trouble'.  So much more effective than just sying "no".  Your family seems so nice.  I'm surprised the little ones didn't get down and play Abby and the toys.  I certainly would've.  One of my favorite things to do is browse the toy store.  Such a wonderment!  That was one of my favorite things to do while doing daycare out of my home.  Periodically I'd go to the toy store, browse, and actually buy!  Of course, I'd take my treasure home and "test" them before I'd give them to the kids.  Ermmm, gotta make sure they new toys are safe! *tee-hee*.  Have a great day!
